Leadership has been a large part of my personality since a young age. I became involved in student government, sports, band, drama, academic clubs and journalism in grade school and continue to in some facet currently. I am naturally driven to help people succeed at whatever we do. I am an Chicago Public School Alumni Mentor, a pool league captain or team member and a mentor to previous staff. I enjoy interacting with others and seeing them excel.
LEARNING
METRICS
Every position I take I try to learn all aspects to ensure as leader I fully understand all that is required from all roles in my professional circle. After observing the good and bad I like to make a plan of action. While at FedEx Office, I began new procedures that raised our production and moral. I created a file organization system at Gatehouse Media. The newspaper having a uniform file handling system saved my employer time and lowed press errors, saving them losses. This is how approach most aspects of life.
POSITIVE
MOTIVATION
A great attitude can really change a situation. I show up daily with a positive yet firm leadership style. Everyone should want their work to be part of a great finished product. Sometimes that means a high ring at the end of a service industry day and others it means clicking through your beautiful interactive project. I have been a billiards team captain for years. This requires offering positive motivation in some adverse situations. Our teams have many awards and trophy's but are known for being a friendly and fun group.
MANAGING
TEAMS
I have managed small design groups, large production teams, event staff, bar and restaurant. Leading teams is a balance of time and money management. Who does what, when and why are a good leader's duty to coordinate. Direct communication is a team priority, it ensures an less stressful day and clear goals. Managing daily work is only one aspect of a good team guidance. Self development can inspire happiness. Leaders should always want to help others become great.
PROJECT
EXECUTION
I have a long history of satisfied employers and employees. A good leader should strengthen their team while completing the task at hand also gaining the highest amount of knowledge or financial gain. I have proven quite effective in my finished products.
